Dear Pres BO: Where are the 800,000 "dreamers" going to find work?

We learned yesterday that Pres BO has arbitrarily changed our immigration laws.

We will now grant "work permits" to the thousands of young people who make up the "dreamer" generation, or the kids who grew up in the US or were brought here by their parents.

What's wrong with this idea?

First, this is unconstitutional.  Pres BO does not have the constitutional authority to create, change or modify laws passed by Congress.  (Some needs to remind Pres BO that this is the US not Venezuela)

Second, where are the "dreamers" going to find jobs?

Today, Ed Morrissey of Hot Air reviews a Washington Post story about youth unemployment in the US:

"With potentially as many as 800,000 new workers flooding into the system, what happens to the millions of Americans who can’t find work now?"

Who is going to explain to the parents of unemployed teenagers that their kids now have additional competition for a smaller group of jobs?  How is that going to play in all those counties between NY City and San Francisco?

Ed is right:

"We’re not creating enough jobs to keep up with population growth as it is.

With this new policy in place, Obama will introduce hundreds of thousands of suddenly-eligible workers into an economy with an 8.2% nominal unemployment rate, a 14.8% U-6 un/underemployed rate, with a civilian participation rate that has plummeted from 65.7% at the start of the Obama recovery in June 2009 (the same as it was when he took office, too) to 63.8%, lower than it was when Reagan faced his first midterm election.

Those who are already struggling to find jobs are not only going to face more competition for those slots, the glut of labor will depress entry-level wage."

We repeat that this "immigration" move was a purely desperate one by a president who keeps dropping in the polls.

The move was also compounded by the Dems' majority unwillingness to support Pres BO with any kind of immigration or Dream Act legislation.  We need to remind Hispanics that Pres BO waited until 4 months before the election to lift a finger on The Dream Act.

It won't be long before a lot of US parents ask the same question that was shouted at Pres BO yesterday:  Why are you choosing foreign workers over Americans?

Pres BO will drop even further in the polls when the public has a chance to digest that.

Why do we need a constitution? We have Barack "Hugo Chavez" Obama!

We all learned in 7th grade that the US is a nation of laws.  We have a constitution and this is how it reads:

"Article 1, Sec. 8 of the Constitution, which enumerates the power of Congress, states that "Congress shall have the Power To... establish an [sic] uniform Rule of Naturalization."

Congress has passed numerous laws pertaining to immigration and naturalization, including laws requiring the deportation of illegals.

The role of the President, according to Article II, Sec. 3, is to "take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed."" (AT)

In other words, we have a president who has decided to "create" his own immigration laws to appeal to a group that he desperately needs to show up in November.

Why do we need a constitution?  We have Obama.

My guess is that Pres BO's executive overreach will be challenged in the courts.

Beyond that, Pres BO has destroyed any real chance of Dems and the GOP reaching any kind of a bipartisan solution to illegal immigration.

You can forget "guest worker" visas.  You can also forget any "Dream Act".  You can forget any of that happening as long as Pres BO is in The Oval Office.  He has poisoned the water and it will take a long time for many of us to get over this kind of heavy handed move.

Pres BO is so politically desperate that he has thrown the Constitution under the bus so that he can show "some hispanos" that he cares about them.

This is very unfortunate.  Pres BO's decision has angered those of us who were serious about finding a rational and humane solution to the problem.

At the end of the day, Pres BO has shown no respect for the rule of law.

A very weak Pres BO allows Russia made helicopters kill people in Syria

It is sick.  It is appalling to watch Russian made helicopters kill innocent people:   Russia defends weapons sales to Syria, says U.S. arming rebels

How we can sit in the sidelines and watch atrocities of this level against innocent men, women & children in Syria?  How do you do that?

Pres BO needs to pick up the phone and call every leader of NATO and demand a military participation.

We need planes, ships and troops in case we have to go in and keep Al Qaeda from those chemical weapons in Syria.

We need a coalition of the willing and use the US Air Force to implement a "no fly zone".  We should also advise the Syrians that we will shoot those helicopters if they keep killing civilians.

At the very least, we should stop buying helicopters from the Russian company that makes them.  We are currently buying these helicopters and giving them to the Afghan government.  We need to cancel that contract if Russia provides anymore of them to Syria.

No....I am not talking for a US or NATO force to land in Syria.  I am simply calling on the West to take a stand and punish regimes that engage in this kind of criminal behavior.
