Beto wants debates in Spanish

Image result for texas vote images
In Spanish, we used different words to describe foolishness. Cubans say “que payaso” or what a clown. Mexicans say “payasada” or clownish. Some use a different word not suitable for this post.
Over the 34 years that I’ve lived in Texas, I have never met a Hispanic who complained that political debates were in English or not in Spanish.
This week, Representative Robert O’Rourke challenged Senator Cruz to six debates and two in Spanish:
O’Rourke campaign manager Jody Casey made the proposal in a letter last week to Cruz’s senior staff, adding that the debates should have “media reach to all twenty markets in the state.”
Well, we are silly, aren’t we?
This is what I am talking about with my Hispanic friends these days:
1) The Democrats had huge majorities in the House and Senate and never passed immigration reform or DACA;
2) We did not have much economic growth in the Obama years;
3) President Obama drew a red line in Syria but they there were no consequences;
4) There are elections in Mexico and leftist Andres Manuel Lopez-Obrador may win;
5) There is a huge border crisis in Venezuela-Colombia and Venezuela-Brazil;
6) Israel’s PM Benjamin Netanyahu made an amazing presentation about Iran and it will probably impact President Trump’s upcoming decision on the deal;
7) Why do Democrats continue to support abortion, especially after 20 weeks?
And other stuff that you read in the front pages everyday.
Yes, sometimes we speak in Spanish, especially with my mother, older Cubans, or over the phone with friends who live in Latin America.
I repeat: no one has mentioned anything about voting yes or no because the debate was or was not in Spanish.
My guess is that Mr. O’Rourke knows he is going to lose and has already started playing the race card.

April 2007: Happy for the British sailors; very sad for Europe

A post from April 2007:

It's nice that the British sailors will be released. However, what lesson did Iran learn from taking hostages?

The answer is none.

Iran is a sponsor of terrorism and it will continue to be!

The NRA will bring $ 42 million to Dallas this weekend

The NRA will bring their dollars to Dallas this weekend.   According to news stories:
“The NRA meeting was booked in 2012,” said Stephanie Faulk, Director of Communications for Vist Dallas.
“The event will draw approximately 80,000 attendees for almost 22,000 room nights.”
Thousands of hotels rooms are booked through the weekend and people are expected to dine in local restaurants.
According to Visit Dallas, the convention will produce almost $24 million in direct business sales and a total economic impact of over $42 million, which supports 6,800 jobs and provides $3.3 million in local taxes.
That's a lot of money.   That's also a lot of hypocrisy from the Dallas opportunist politicians who criticize the NRA Convention.    How much of those $ 3.3 million in taxes are they willing to give up?

Did someone update Joy Behar about the NBC correction

We remember how Joy Behar reacted to Brian Ross' breaking story about Michael Flynn & President Trump.   It cost Ross his reputation and it caused Joy Behar to make a fool for herself.

Another day and another bombshell has to be corrected.

Let me ask:  Did someone update Joy Behar about the NBC correction:
The correction was announced on MSNBC during "Meet the Press Daily" by the story's lead reporter, Tom Winter. He said US officials had told him that it "was not a wiretap" but instead a "pen register."
"In plain English, that means it was a log of phone calls that were made from specific phone line -- from a specific phone line or specific phone lines," Winter said.
Calling it an "important distinction," Winter explained that a pen register meant authorities were "not able to listen in in real-time or record his conversations." Instead, they were only able to monitor incoming and outgoing calls. Winter's initial story cited two sources with knowledge of legal proceedings involving Cohen.
Soon after Winter corrected his report on MSNBC, the story was corrected online and an editor's note was appended to it.
"NBC News has changed the headline and revised parts of the original article," the note said.
Another bombshell that has to be corrected later.   Maybe someone should check their sources.

Amazon draws the line in Seattle

Image result for high taxes images

Amazon draws the line in Seattle.    Like many big cities run by Democrats, Seattle's city government is taxing corporations into relocating to Texas.

The latest is Amazon:   The company, which already employs more than 40,000 people in Seattle, has been planning a new 17-storey office tower that would house at least 7,000 new workers.   But now the project is on hold, and Amazon is even threatening to sublease out all the space it’s leased in another building that’s already under construction.

It's an interesting situation.  It should send a signal to other Democrat controlled cities that there are limits to taxation.
