A cult losing cultists fast

(My new American Thinker post)

Will President Obama ever travel overseas again?  Probably not, specially after all of the stories coming out of Europe.

This is from Gidoen Rachman of FT in London:

"It has taken a long time, but the world’s fantasies about Barack Obama are finally crumbling. In Europe, once the headquarters of the global cult of Obama, the disillusionment is particularly bitter. Monday’s newspapers were full of savage quotes about the perfidy of the Obama-led US."

I didn't vote for Obama but all of this disappointment speaks volumes about the Europeans.

It is the Europeans who need to do some "soul searching" about the difficult choices that a US president has to make as the leader of the free world.

Maybe we've spoiled the Europeans by protecting them so much over the last 60 years.  Our military cover allowed the Europeans to create unsustainable welfare states and to elect leaders promising cradle to grave coverage.

Maybe the Europeans deserve the Obama disenchantment.  This is what they get for falling in love with a fantasy, a fairy tale and Cinderella.

Europeans need to wake up to the serious problems facing the West, from the threat of radical Islam to unsustainable economic systems.

Yes, the problems did not go away because Obama told them what they wanted to hear one summer day in Berlin 2008!  Frankly, the problems won't go away as long as Europeans act like children.

Some thoughts about abortion and Austin

Abortion clinics are still open in Texas.  In other words, any woman can choose to get an abortion anywhere in the Lone Star State.

So what's this temper tantrum in Austin all about?

Let me let Kristen Powers, a liberal, explain it to you:

"Maybe we should wonder what is wrong with the women who think protecting the right to abort your baby for any reason up to the 26th week is a ‘human right.’

There is a second issue on the floor, although it has not been given much coverage by the media.   The other issue is forcing abortion clinics to meet certain medical standards, as was recently done in Pennsylvania.

It's clear to me that Senator Wendy Davis is the one who is outside the mainstream.   Maybe Senator Davis should listen to women rather than Planned Parenthood.
