Concerns over the unknown costs of ObamaCare killing immigration reform

(My new American Thinker post) As a supporter of a practical immigration reform that focuses on "work visas" and bringing in people with advanced degrees, I understand those who are a bit skeptical about another "long bill" without a specific idea of costs.

Frankly, I am growing more and more skeptical, too!  Does anyone seriously think that we can add any more layers to our welfare state?  The US is not immune from reality!

We learn daily about the problems with ObamaCare, from the advent of part time workers to taxes that were only supposed to go against the rich.

Again, don't blame people for asking tough questions about the new immigration proposal.  We need questions and specific answers!  Senators Rubio, Blake & McCain need to get busy explaining what this will cost or it will fail!

The Heritage Foundation study has a price tag that even Democrats will think twice about:

"Heritage says the costs come from more than $9 trillion in government benefits to newly legalized immigrants over their lifetimes — only partially counterbalanced by $3 trillion they would pay in taxes."

We spoke with Mike Gonzalez of Heritage on my show Tuesday

The Heritage report forces us to consider the financial risk of legalizing people who will become consumers of social services.  Yes, they will pay taxes but they will receive many times more in services.

This is why we need to burn up the 844-pages and write a simple law that does not have a path to citizenship, creates a "guest worker visa" for those who want to work & facilitates entry for engineers because we need them a lot!

Thank goodness for Mr Ramsey's racial profiling!

(My new American Thinker post)

Like most of you, I woke up to this amazing story in Cleveland about the two girls missing for 10 years.

Thank God that the girls were found.  We hope that their years in captivity has not harmed them in any significant way but that may be wishful thinking on my part.

The big hero is a black man who said this:
"I knew something was wrong when a little, pretty white girl ran into a black man’s arms. Something is wrong here. Dead giveaway.”

Mr Ramsey used a little common sense and we are glad that he was thinking outside of the box.

We sometimes refer to this as "racial profiling".  I call it giving our law enforcement people the opportunity to trust their instincts.

Thank you again Mr Ramsey.   Maybe some of your common sense will cure the "PC disease" that we have to live with in the country today.

Benghazi moment of truth, chapter 1

We spoke with Rick Moran about Benghazi and the hearings starting today.

I agree with Rick that it's too early to talk about impeachment proceedings or resignations.  We are not there and may never get there.

Nevertheless, these hearings, and the stuff coming later, will be very embarassing for the Obama administration.

For example, who came up with these "insulting" talking points about a video causing an uproar like this in the streets of Benghazi?

Also, who decided to leave personnel on the ground without an attempt to defend or rescue them?  I think that this is going to be very tough because 4 Americans were killed.  It's hard to believe that we could not get special forces to Benghazi during a multi-hour firefight?

Rick pointed out that Mike Hubackee said that this scandal will bring down the Obama presidency.

I don't know if Mr Huckabee is right or wrong.  I do remind you that no one thought that President Nixon would be brought by Watergate at this time of his second term.

Stay tuned because we will hear some things that the Obama administration will not enjoy.   By the way, the media is starting to cover this story, as we see on CNN.
