The 2010 census was great for Texas

The 2010 census was a wonderful Christmas gift for those of us who want Pres BO to retire in 2013:

"Texas, continuing seven consecutive decades of growth, will gain the most seats with four more House members in 2012. Florida gains two, while Arizona, Georgia, Nevada, South Carolina, Utah and Washington each gain one."  (Fox News)

What do  most of the "growth" states have in common?  Low taxes and "right to work" laws!

On paper, this is a big win for the GOP.  Add to this the results of 2010 in statehouses and you will get nice redistricting soon!

In the short run, I think that you will see a lot more Dems retire before 2012 or switch parties to compete in the new landscape.

Last, but not least, there are now 308 million of us!  (It was 281 million in 2000)

Another year of abortion......and the impact of ultrasound!

Our cartoon is old.    However, it makes the point better than any anti-abortion or pro-life cartoon.

It was 44 years ago that Roe v. Wade made abortion legal in the US.

In other words, we have now aborted close to 50,000,000 lives in the US.

Nevertheless, I am confident that we won't have to wait another 40-something years to reverse this madness.

The end of abortion is a lot closer than you think......and you can thank technology for that:   Ultrasound!

How much longer can we rely on PEMEX for oil?

Down in Mexico, Pres. Pena-Nieto is desperately trying to reform PEMEX.  Unfortunately, the Mexican left has the same short sighted attitude toward energy reform that our Dems have about Social Security.

PEMEX is the Mexican sacred cow. Social Security is ours.

For several years, we've been dealing with the reality that Mexico will be running out of oil to export:
"Crude production in Mexico could fall dramatically by 2015 if a reform bill before Congress is not passed, the head of state oil company Pemex said on Tuesday.

From today's production of around 2.9 million barrels a day (bpd), Pemex's production levels could fall by around 1.2 million bpd by 2015 without this reform," Jesus Reyes Heroles told journalists in Madrid."
We can rely on Canada. We can not rely on Mexico.
