Indict Raul Castro

Down in Florida, there is a lot of talk about indicting Raúl Castro.  Here is the story:
Sen. Marco Rubio (R., Fla.) and Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart (R., Fla.) are urging President Trump to direct the Justice Department to review whether to indict former Cuban President Raul Castro for the illegal shoot down in 1996 of two American civilian aircraft that killed three Americans and a U.S. legal resident.
Rubio and Diaz-Balart on Tuesday sent a letter to Trump commending him on his “expressions of solidarity with courageous pro-democracy activists” in Cuba and asking him “within all applicable rules and regulations” to direct the DOJ to look into the Cuban government’s alleged downing of the two U.S. aircraft in 1996 and determine whether to indict Castro.
“In the spirit of Cuban Independence Day, we urge to consider new additional actions to hold the Castro regime accountable for its crimes,” Rubio and Diaz-Balart said in the letter, referring to the independence Cuba won from Spain on May 20, 1902.
The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
On the surface, it sounds like a good political tactic in an election year down in Florida.  There is also merit to the indictment.
Back in 1996. the Cuban government killed four Cuban-Americans (three were U.S. citizens).  Clearly, the Cuban MiG flew into international air space and shot down the aircraft.  Did the Cuban MiG pilot know he was outside Cuban airspace?  Who gave him the order to shoot down unarmed aircraft?  It would have made more sense to force the two Cessnas to touch down on Cuban soil and arrest the men.
Everything points to Raúl Castro, #2 at the time, as the man who made the decision.  It’s hard to believe that such a decision would have been made by anybody else in the chain of command.  Yes, the same Raúl Castro whom President Obama did the wave with at a baseball game.
By the way, as a result of this shooting, Congress tightened up the U.S. embargo with the Helms-Burton Act (1996).

Harvey and the Democrat women who stayed silent

Weinstein will apparently be charged with rape, criminal sex acts, sex abuse and sexual misconduct.

Here is the amazing part of the story:   Every Democrat woman knew of Weinstein's behavior, from Mrs. Obama to Mrs. Clinton and so many others.

These women said nothing because Weinstein was really good at collecting cash for the Democrats.

Miss Valdez and her taxes

On a scale of 1 to 10, this is probably not a major scandal.   After all, many people fall behind on their taxes and settle with the IRS.

Nevertheless, this is not a good headline the first week of the campaign:    "Lupe Valdez, the Democratic nominee for Texas governor, owes $12,000 in property taxes".

Here is the question:  Why didn't this come out during the primary or when Miss Valdez announced her candidacy?

President Trump: Trade Raul Castro for the embargo

Down in Florida, there is a lot of talk about indicting Raúl Castro. Here is the story.
On the surface, it sounds like a good political tactic in an election year down in Florida. In reality, there is a lot of merit to the indictment.
Everything points to Raúl Castro, #2 at the time, as the man who made the decision to shoot down the unarmed aircrafts. It’s hard to believe that such a decision would have been made by anybody else in the chain of command. In other words, it was Raul Castro who ordered the shooting of 4 Cuban Americans.
Yes, the same Raúl Castro whom President Obama did the wave with at a baseball game.
President Trump should support the indictment and call on Diaz-Canel to make a deal: You send us Raul Castro and we will drop the embargo immediately.
It sounds crazy but remember that the Cuban economy is getting worse by the minute.

The Democrats should listen to the public on immigration........

According to a new poll, there is a consensus on immigration out there:
"For instance, nearly two-thirds would approve of a bill that gives a pathway to citizenship to Dreamers in exchange for a border wall and the changes to immigration policy Trump has demanded."  (via Hot Air)
Didn't President Trump put something like that on the table months ago?

The Democrats have concluded that doing nothing is their best path to winning back the House.

I don't think so!   They'd be better off sitting down with President Trump and negotiating a solution to DACA that includes a border wall and employer sanctions.

A summer reading idea: The Bedford Boys: One American Town's Ultimate D-day Sacrifice

This is the book information from the Amazon posting:
June 6, 1944: Nineteen boys from Bedford, Virginia--population just 3,000 in 1944--died in the first bloody minutes of D-Day. They were part of Company A of the 116th Regiment of the 29th Division, and the first wave of American soldiers to hit the beaches in Normandy.
Later in the campaign, three more boys from this small Virginia town died of gunshot wounds.
Twenty-two sons of Bedford lost--it is a story one cannot easily forget and one that the families of Bedford will never forget.
The Bedford Boys is the true and intimate story of these men and the friends and families they left behind.
Based on extensive interviews with survivors and relatives, as well as diaries and letters, Kershaw's book focuses on several remarkable individuals and families to tell one of the most poignant stories of World War II--the story of one small American town that went to war and died on Omaha Beach.

What we have here is a bad case of Trump derangement syndrome and/or a woman with a sick sense of humor......

What we have here is a bad case of Trump derangement syndrome and/or a woman with a sick sense of humor:   "Clinton declares 'crisis in our democracy,' as Harvard gives her a medal".

According to the story, she spoke of leaders who seek to polarize the nation, delegitimize news outlets and spread fake news.

Are we talking about the woman who created "the right wing conspiracy" defense of her husband?   Or called her opponents "deplorables"?   Can't get over the reality that she lost the election?  Took money from every despot in the world looking to reserve a seat in her upcoming presidency?

Sorry but the lady is sick.

The "generic" vote is Democrats plus 4

Image result for polls images

On the eve of Memorial Day 2018, the "generic" vote is Democrats plus 4, according to RCP.

Remember that the Democrats had a double digit lead back in Thanksgiving?

We are always cautious about polls but the trend is good for the GOP.

How did the Democrats blow their lead?   Have you listened to their message?   It's all oppose Trump and resist Trump.   They need a message that actually connects with people.
