It’s too early to talk about 2018 but the Democrat generic vote lead has shrunk substantially and the Republicans are raising lot of money.........

Maybe that border fence would help Mexico too

Over the last few years, I’ve had conversations with Mexican friends who agree that the proposed border fence could actually be very helpful to stop guns and cash going south everyday. It could also have an impact on the human traffic and drugs going north everyday. We get drugs and they get billions of dollars in cash. They get guns and we get people coming in anyway imaginable.
This is a very sad but too common problem:
Nearly 200 people from Mexico and Central America were stuffed inside large trucks and caught trying to enter the United States illegally during three huge January smuggling busts that occurred in just nine days.Officials in southern California said 77 people, including five children, were found near the Mexico border Monday packed inside a sweltering truck that had been painted to resemble a UPS truck.
It raises a couple of questions:
1) Who checks what comes out of Mexico? Are there any controls in place on the Mexico side of the U.S.-Mexico border?  The answer is complicated. They tell me that there are controls in some populated areas but it’s wide open in others.
2) Why isn’t Mexico doing a better job controlling the human flow from Central America? Complicated again. The cartels are now moving people through the country. They can buy their way from town to town. They travel on protected routes, or so they tell me.
We feel sorry for the poor people found in these trucks. Nevertheless, it’s time to publicly call out Mexico and demand more effort on their side of the border. At least, we should point out the benefits of a border fence to stop this terrible stuff going north and south.

The NFL has a lot of work to do in the off season......

The Trump economy

Democrats may want to listen to Clarence Page.............

Democrats may want to listen to Clarence Page:
So whatever message the Democrats had in mind as they decided to protest by refusing to stand or clap for Trump, it didn’t have much of a chance against Trump’s stagecraft.
He seems to enjoy making smoke come out of his opponents’ ears — like the professional wrestlers with whom he used to work in the WWE. Show public anger at Trump? Go ahead. He welcomes it.
Yet, ironically, Trump actually showed surprisingly significant movement toward the Dems in his speech. Sure, he might reverse himself later, as he has in the past. He’s already getting pressure from the right, for example, for his surprisingly progressive offer of a “pathway to citizenship” for immigrants brought here unlawfully as children. Conservative website Breitbart immediately branded him “Amnesty Don.”
But, as long as the option is available, Democrats, don’t let Trump Derangement Syndrome stop you. You owe it to yourselves and your constituents to work with this president as much as you would want Republicans to work with the next Democratic president.
Good advice from a guy who has been around for a while.

Love him or hate him, President Trump put on a good show on Tuesday.  On the other hand, the Democrats had an awful night, from their silly body language to a Kennedy speech that fell flat.

So listen to Mr. Page.    He has a point.

Bartolo Colon a Ranger

He will go to spring training and likely end up in Round Rock.    I can see two scenarios for Colon:

Option A:   A rotation injury bring Colon to the majors; or,

Option B:  He pitches well and forces the team to bring him up.

I'm hoping it's "B".

Colon has 240 career wins (.577 winning pct) so he may want a shot at 250!

Is any one surprised?    This is a report from Florida:
Consider what’s happening in the capital of Florida. Female staffers and lobbyists have found “many male legislators will no longer meet with them privately,” reported The Miami Herald.
“I had a senator say, ‘I need my aide here in the room because I need a chaperone,’ ” lobbyist Jennifer Green told the paper. “I said, ‘Senator, why do you need a chaperone? . . . Do you feel uncomfortable around me?’ ‘Well,’ he said, ‘anyone can say anything with the door shut.’ ”
No kidding.   Can you blame men for protecting themselves against this or that?

This is not what intensity looks like.....

We've been hearing a lot about Democrat intensity or a huge "blue wave" coming later this year.

Well, this is not what intensity looks like:   "Democratic National Committee fundraising hits wall as GOP sits flush ahead of midterm elections".
