Goya and the left is out of control

Prominent Latino voices call for Goya Foods boycott after CEO ...
As my late father used to say, "la bola pica y se extiende" or loosely translated to the ball hits the ground and keeps on rolling.  It's actually a Cuban baseball expression about a baseball that lands between two outfielders and rolls to the wall.  It's used by Cubans when a situation just keeps on rolling without any end in sight.

Well, the left just keeps on rolling.  They just can't stand anyone who has a kind word for President Trump.  It's Trump Derangement Syndrome 24/7!

Last week, Bob Unanue, the CEO of Goya Foods, went to The White House as part of a proclamation on Hispanic Prosperity.    He praised President Trump and said this:

"We're all truly blessed at the same time to have a leader like President Trump, who is a builder," said Unanue, who is of Spanish descent, at the event.

And then the arrows started coming, from AOC to Julian Castro.

Some in the left are calling for a Goya boycott or "think twice" about buying their products.

First, Goya Foods is an amazing Hispanic story.  It started many years ago and employed, and continues to employ, thousands of people.  By everything I've heard, it's a good place to work specially for new immigrants who have trouble speaking English.  I recall that they hired lots of Cubans back in the 1960’s and 1970’s.

Second, boycotting Goya will only hurt the employees and retailers who sell their fine products.   What are AOC and Julian Castro thinking?  Does AOC remember her Amazon stunt and how thousands of jobs went to another state?

This is what the election of 2020 is about.  On one side, an imperfect President Trump who probably tweets too much but understands that this is a noble country where Goya Foods can be a success story.  On the other hand, the "boycott" people who just want to bring down anyone who thinks differently.

So I'm voting to reelect Trump.  The choice could not be more clear.

July 11, 2016: The 54-36 Rangers have the best record in the AL

Texas Rangers 2016 Season Highlights - YouTube
What would like to hear first?

The bad news is that the Rangers have lost 9 of the last 12.   It was especially painful to watch them go 2-5 against the last place Twins!

The good news is that they are 54-36 with the best record in the AL.

Over the next 72 games, the Rangers will have to play better but I still like their chances a lot.   After all, they can go 36-36 and still finish with 90 wins!

GM Daniels will likely make another July trade.   My guess is that he will find a starter, such as San Diego's Drew Pomeranz who is 8-7 with a 2.47 ERA for 17 starts.   He will also look for another bullpen arm, like Andrew Miller with the Yankees.

And let's not forget that a few guys are coming back soon:  Yu Darvish, Keone Kela, and Derek Holland should be here in the next 2-3 weeks.   Colby Lewis should be around Labor Day.

Of course, these trades will cost a lot but Texas has the depth to make those deals.    In other words, we may see Joey Gallo, Ryan Rua or Juricson Profar wearing a Padre or Yankee uniform in a few weeks.

Nevertheless, it's been a great year and more fun is coming.
