How not to shut down the government

Twenty hours later, and the left is furious.  Leftists are calling him “Sellout Schumer.”  They are disappointed, to say the least.
In fact, we just saw a perfect example of how not to shut down the government.
First, shutting down the federal government is a high-risk play.  The main reason is that you are hurting the military, a group that most Americans love.  As I saw over and over on social media, the military moms were furious that their sons’ pay was frozen over DACA.  Bad move, to say the least.
Second, shutting down the government requires a united party.  In fact, the party was not united when many senators did not play ball.  From North Dakota to Alabama to West Virginia to Missouri to Indiana, these senators did not want to close the government over DACA.
So why did Senator Schumer cry “uncle”?  Because he bit off more than he could chew.  He jumped into the ocean without taking into account that it was full of sharks.
Yes, this is a victory for President Trump.  I see it as also a victory for common sense.
We will have a DACA solution that makes sense rather than amnesty.  Some of these “DREAMers” will be legalized and given a chance to stay in the U.S.  At the same time, it will come with serious improvements on border security and other immigration law enforcement.

June 2006: Saddam was a terrorist!

Image result for saddam cartoons

We remember this article from June 2006:
"A newly released document appears to provide evidence that in 1999 the Taliban welcomed "Islamic relations with Iraq" to mediate among the Taliban, the Northern Alliance and Russia, and that the Taliban invited Iraqi officials to Afghanistan.

The document, captured in Iraq but never before seen by the public, offers glimmers of new insight at the Pentagon's Foreign Military Studies Office Web site. The FMSO is a research and analysis center under the U.S. Army's Training and Doctrine Command.
This particular document mentions two men with similar names, each with ties to Pakistani religious schools known as madrassas, Jihad training camps, the Taliban and Al Qaeda.
These documents, as well as Saddam's track record between the 1991 cease fire and March 2003, made a strong case that he was a terrorist up to no good.

It's a shame that this whole issue was politicized by the Democrats.

It's a shame because it was Democrats who told us that Saddam had WMD's, ties to terrorism and represented a threat to all.

After all, we remember what Senator Hillary Clinton, and other Democrats, said on the Senate floor during the Iraq debates.   We also remember President Clinton and VP Gore making the case against Iraq in the late 1990's.

Saddam was a terrorist. Saddam had strong ties to terrorism. Last but not least, the UN was too corrupt to do anything about it.

2006: Remember when Cuba was put on a Human Rights Commission?

Why do we waste our time with the UN?

This is not fiction but rather a headline:

"Cuba wins seat on U.N. Human Rights Council By PABLO BACHELET"

They say that it's a procedural step. In other words, it's Cuba's turn to serve on the council.

This is a travesty. Cuba is one of the world's worst violators of human rights.   The Castro regime has no business sitting in a Human Rights Commission, whether it is one second or one week.

2006: Remember when Senator Kerry's resolution got 6 votes!

Back in June 2006, it was put up or shut up in the US Senate.

Sen. Kerry put a resolution to a vote and 6 Democrats were willing to go on record calling for a withdrawal from Iraq by the end of 2006:

Barbara Boxer of California
Robert Byrd of West Virginia
Russ Feingold of Wisconsin
Tom Harkin of Iowa
Edward Kennedy of Massachusetts
John Kerry of Massachusetts

What happened to the other 45 Democrats?  Once again, we saw a party that talked a lot but refused to go on record about calling for a withdrawal.

We salute fathers, uncles and grandfathers

Let me send a special greeting to all of the fathers. I believe that the following quote applies to me and so many of us:
"When I was a boy of 14, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be 21, I was astonished at how much the old man had learned in seven years."(Mark Twain, in "Bringing Up Father," Reader's Digest, September 1937)

Hillary Clinton is not running in 2020

Let me say it again. Hillary Clinton is not going to run in 2020.  The answer is very simple. She can not win or get 270 electoral votes.

Furthermore, her post-election performance, from the books and statements blaming others, did a lot to confirm that she has the wrong temperament to be president.

It's over.

Illegal immigration is about national security & the rule of law

Illegal immigration is not about people who work hard or cut our grass.   It is about national security and the rule of law.

We cannot afford open borders because it is a threat to our national security.   We live in a world where people are desperately trying to blow up a Western City and kill thousands.  Chaotic borders allow them to come in.   Do you leave your home unlocked?  We should not leave our borders open.

The second issue is the rule of law. We cannot allow people to break laws without consequences.

Illegal immigration is just another form of corruption or disrespect for the law.

We can not look the other way, no matter how hard immigrants may work.

2006: What about those 500 chemical bombs?

Image result for weapons of mass destruction images

Why did we wait so long to hear about these WMD's? I don't know the answer.

The Belmont Club is running a post called "The Gas Shells". They are offering an explanation. Check it out:

"General Tom Mcinerney is reporting on Fox Hannity and Colmes right now that that the administration has been keeping this low profile to avoid exposing 3 of the 5 members of the UN Security council; Russia, China, and France.
McInerney says these weapons will be traced to these countries, and asserts it is well known that Russia helped Saddam move most of his WMD stockpiles out of Iraq before the war."

2006: More on those chemical bombs!

It's silly to argue that the chemical bombs are pre-1991 models. How silly is that? I did not know that WMDs came in models like automobiles.

This finding is significant. My guess is that more findings will make this story more interesting.

There are a couple of good articles on the WMD story:
