President Obama Looks Overwhelmed

It's not fair, but it's politics.
From ISIS to Ebola, President Obama reminds you of the fellow trying to get the water out of the boat.  He covers one hole, and water is coming in from another hole.  It must be frustrating, to say the least.

Ebola is the latest of the problems to blow up in President Obama's face, as Byron York reports:
On Sept. 16, President Obama visited the headquarters of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta. The agency is the lead organization in the federal government's efforts to prevent the introduction and spread of the Ebola virus into the United States, and Obama used his remarks there to update Americans on those efforts.
The chances of an Ebola outbreak in the United States are "extremely low," Obama said. U.S. are working with officials in Africa "to increase screening at airports so that someone with the virus doesn't get on a plane for the United States." And then this:
In the unlikely event that someone with Ebola does reach our shores, we've taken new measures so that we're prepared here at home. We're working to help flight crews identify people who are sick, and more labs across our country now have the capacity to quickly test for the virus. We're working with hospitals to make sure that they are prepared, and to ensure that our doctors, our nurses and our medical staff are trained, are ready, and are able to deal with a possible case safely.
Obama added that in the unlikely event an Ebola case appeared in the United States, "we have world-class facilities and professionals ready to respond. And we have effective surveillance mechanisms in place.
And then a case of Ebola happens in Dallas.

To be fair, President Obama is just unlucky on this one.

Unlike ISIS, where President Obama was incredibly negligent, Ebola is a bit like Katrina.  In other words, Pres. Bush had nothing to do with Katrina, and especially the incompetence of the local government, but he got the blame for so much.

Finally, there is a sense that President Obama is just plain overwhelmed.  He can't manage events or surround himself with people who can get things done.

And Chris Matthews is right.  President Obama needs to hear some new voices and bring some new blood to his administration.  He really needs to send Valerie Jarrett back to Chicago!
