Happy # 80 John Kay
We remember John Kay who was born in Germany on this day in 1944. He eventually moved to North America.
In 1967, Kay formed Steppenwolf. Over the next two years, the band recorded some of the biggest hits of that era: "Born to be wild", "Magic carpet ride" & "Rock me". Their LP's were also huge bestsellers.

Happy # 68 Andy Garcia
Andrés Arturo García Menéndez was born in Cuba on this day in 1956. We know him as Andy Garcia.
He left the island in the 1960's and settled in Miami.
Later, he became a successful movie actor and more recently has produced films.
Andy Garcia's "The lost city" was released in 2007 and brought back many good and bad memories. It told a story that many Cuban Americans could understand and relate to.
