We say happy birthday Rod Carew who was born in Panama on this day in 1945.
Carew came up with the Twins in 1967, won a batting title in 1969 and quite a few more in the 1970s. He hit .388 in 1977 and retired with a .328 career batting average.
One of the all time greats!
