The Texas Rangers need to sign Josh Hamilton to a long term contract

We are a few days from having exhibition baseball on the radio.  Baseball has a way of improving our self esteem and distracting us from the day to day problems of the world.

The Rangers and Josh Hamilton have been talking about a long term contract.  Unfortunately, Hamilton upset the talks with the alcohol relapse a few weeks ago.

I think that the Rangers need to present Hamilton with a 3-5 year contract in the $75 million range.  You can add some behavior related clauses to protect the Rangers.

The new contract will have a huge impact on the team and the fans:

1) It will send a message that the Rangers will pay their best player;

2) It will send Hamilton an important message that the team cares about him and his future; and,

3) It will make the fans happy because Hamilton is very popular around here.

So let's get it done.  The Rangers need to sign Hamilton.  Click here for our Saturday sports show:
