I was happy to see the apology because Rush was wrong in using that language.

Pres BO's decision has also put on center stage the absurdity of a "one size fits all" health care program. The voters are getting more and more concerned: "USA Today/Gallup Poll: Swing-State Voters Want Obamacare to Be Repealed." (RCP)

A few days ago, Sandra Fluke, a law student, spoke before a meeting chaired by the Dems. It was not an official Congressional hearing. Anyway, this is what happened:
"During a testimony in front of the House Democratic Steering and Policy Committee on Monday (a meeting that was held by House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi), Fluke — who was coincidentally the only witness heard — described the financial constraints that purchasing birth control puts on her peers.
“Forty percent of the female students at Georgetown Law reported to us that they struggled financially as a result of this policy,” Fluke said, referring to the fact that the university doesn’t pay for contraception. “Without insurance coverage, contraception, as you know, can cost a woman over $3,000 during law school.”
She detailed, among other stories, how one woman felt “embarrassed” and “powerless” at the pharmacy counter when she “learned for the first time” that contraceptives weren‘t covered by the university’s health care plan."
We remind you that it was not an official congressional hearing. It was a "sham" chaired by Nancy Pelosi to please the left wing of the party.
Like Rush, I was horrified to hear that a young woman would call on the state to pay for her birth control pills. Frankly, I don't care about the young woman's sex life. However, I do care about my taxes paying for it.
Rush was wrong but it was Sandra Fluke who put her sex life on the national stage for discussion. It was Miss Fluke who told us that she could not afford "birth control" on a law student's budget.
Again, I don't care about Miss Fluke's sex life. However, my suggestion to Miss Fluke is to pay for her own sex life or tell her "partners" to go down to 7-11 and buy some condoms. Or Miss Fluke could walk down to The Planned Parenthood office and get pills for free. Or Miss Fluke should stop having sex!
At the end of the day, the issue is the "entitlement" state of mind.
How did we go from a nation built on self-reliance and personal responsibility to one where Nancy Pelosi & a 30-year old woman want the state to pay for their contraceptives?
