Jim Bunning pitched a perfect game in the major leagues. He faced some of the greatest hitters of his era----Willie Mays, Henry Aaron, Willie McCovey, Roberto Clemente, Ted Williams, Eddie Matthews, Ernie Banks, Mickey Mantle and Harmon Killebrew.
Eventually, he was elected to the Hall of Fame.
Later, Bunning was the Republican Senator from Kentucky. He was replaced by Senator Rand Paul
Back in 2005, he put an idea on the table.
I liked it a lot:
