We say happy birthday to Concetta Rosa Maria Franconero who was born in New York on this day in 1937.
We know her as Connie Francis, one of the most successful female singers of our generation.

Happy # 73 to Gorman Thomas
Does time fly or what?
Happy birthday to Gorman Thomas who was born in South Carolina on this day in 1950. He played his first game with the Brewers in 1973.
It took him a few seasons to get going but he became one of the best power hitters developed by the Milwaukee Brewers' organization.
Thomas lead the league HRs in 1979 and 1982. He was a big part of the Milwaukee teams that won the AL pennant in 1982.
From 1978 to 1982, Thomas hit 197 HRs with 560 RBI.
He was fun to watch.

Christmas 1970: The Carpenters & "Merry Christmas darling"
Christmas music is great. I love the traditional favorites based on the birth of Christ, such as "Holy Night" or "Silent Night".
There are some good pop songs. "Merry Christmas Darling" was recorded by The Carpenters just in time for Christmas 1970. It became a classic immediately. It is one of my favorites.

Happy # 83 Dionne Warwick!
Just saw that Dionne Warwick turned a year older. She was born in New Jersey in 1940.
Dionne is one of the greatest female singers ever! Her songs are a huge part of my soundtrack.
I've been hearing Dionne Warwick on the radio as far back as I can remember.
Happy birthday to one of the real pretty ladies of pop music!

"Heartbreaker", recorded with Barry Gibb of The Bee Gees in 1982.
