Many years ago, John McCain was a POW in Hanoi. In 2000, he was defeated by GW Bush in South Carolina. In mid-2007, 9 he was dead in the water for the Republican nomination. Eventually, he won the nomination. Mitt Romney was a very successful businessman and son of George Romney, who ran for president in 1968. Romney was also governor of Massachusetts. At one point in the summer of 2008 , I was hoping for a McCain-Romney ticket.
