Voters and legislatures "draw maps" NOT judges!

For the moment, it looks like common sense will prevail in the efforts to redraw Texas' maps:

"The U.S. Supreme Court has again thrown Texas’s new congressional map into a state of flux, temporarily blocking a court-drawn redistricting map late Friday and announcing that it would rule on the constitutionality of the map early next year.

The ruling is a win for Republicans who had sought to hold up the map of the state’s 36 congressional districts.

The map was drawn by a three-judge panel after a map drawn by Texas Republicans got caught up in the courts."  (WP)

Hooray for the US Supreme Court.  I'm glad that someone understands that voters and state legislatures should draw maps rather than judges.

As a Hispanic, I am sick and tired of people who insist that I must be represented by a Hispanic.

Frankly, that's an insult.  I vote for people because of their ideas, character and experience.  I am not into quotas!

Let's hope that the people of Texas win this and draw their own maps.  We already have too many "unelected" judges making too many decisions.

What could Pres BO learn from QB Tim Tebow?

Yes, I understand that Tebow is an NFL quarterback!    Yes, I know that the presidency is a little different than professional football.

However, Tebow has shown the world what a little confidence, leadership and a good attitude can do for a team and the city of Denver.

I read Matthew Todd's column and he is right on target:

"I do think this Tebow boomlet is about faith.  And it’s about confidence.  And leadership.  And humility -- a humbleness born of strength and conviction.  It is about Tebow’s faith in his own teammates.  It is about his faith and confidence in his own organization.  It is about him acknowledging his own weaknesses and failings and mistakes and understanding that if his team looks good, then he looks good."

Yes, QB Tebow has everyone going "Bronco crazy" in Denver.

Frankly, I love it too!  Who doesn't love a team that believes in itself and a QB who leaves everything on the field Sunday after Sunday?

Who does not love a leader who assumes responsibility rather blaming everything on everybody else?

Yes, Pres BO could a learn a thing too about QB Tebow, specially about leadership and standing up for something that you believe in!

Tim Tebow believes in himself and his teammates!  This is why he is winning and making Denver fall in love with the Broncos again:

They told me that Dems would be mad at the president if I voted for McCain....

We heard this today from Rep Cardoza of California:

"After observing President Obama for the last three years, it has become obvious to me that the president might prefer to be a university professor rather than do the job he holds today.

While he might not realize that he feels this way, the evidence is very clear to those who work with or watch him closely."

Rep Cardoza is probably speaking for a lot of Dems who don't have the courage to go public with their frustration.

Rep Cardoza feels that Pres BO suffers from:

1)  ‘IDEA DISEASE’;
2)  ‘I’M RIGHT, YOU’RE WRONG’; and
3)   LECTURES vs. LISTENING.

We are happy that Rep Cardoza has "seen the light" and joined the real world.

Dear Rep Cardoza:  I feel your pain but I voted for McCain!
