I guess that this what the Brits get for being such strong allies in Iraq & Afghanistan

This is so outrageous that I had to check a couple of sources.  According to UK news reports:
"Friends and allies of Baroness Thatcher expressed 'surprise and disappointment' last night as it emerged President Obama is not planning to send any serving member of his administration to her funeral. Whitehall sources have revealed that the US delegation at tomorrow's service in St Paul's Cathedral will be led by two Reagan era secretaries of state: James Baker and George Shultz.
Though President Obama himself had not been expected to attend, there had been speculation that he would be represented either by Vice President Joe Biden or wife Michelle. However, the Obama administration had said it would not be attending Thatcher's funeral before the Boston bombings."
Again, this is so outrageous!

First, this is not about the late PM Thatcher, a very consequential leader of the 20th century.  This is really about the US-UK relationship.  We understand that President Obama can not attend every funeral but the UK is a special country.

Second, what is the White House thinking?  There are thousands of UK soldiers who've served in Iraq and Afghanistan.   Obama is snubbing all of those valiant UK troops who have served along side US troops.

PM Harper of Canada and others will be there.

President Obama will not be there, another manifestation that he is leading from behind or not showing up at all!

Shame on President Obama.  The UK deserves a lot better than this kind of snub.
