Senator Rubio and traffic violations

The Democrats, and their allies at The NY Times, must be worried about Senator Rubio.

How else do you explain the silly story about Senator Rubio and traffic violations? How do you explain it in light of The NY Times’s total silence about Senator Obama's driving record?

To be fair, a story about reckless driving could be relevant about a person's character, especially if it involves alcohol or drugs. It may be something we should know about the candidate if there is a pattern of recklessness.

There is nothing like that in Rubio's past. This Rubio story is about as important as the one about Romney's high school days back in 2012.

There are two points about the Rubios that The NY Times did not tell its readers:

First, the Rubios paid the fine, took the defensive driving course and didn't try to use their influence to get out of anything. In fact, their behavior was what we would expect from any of us, as H.L. Wolff wrote:

Now, as a person who has been important in Florida politics for a long time, Marco Rubio could have doubtless made some strategic phone calls and made these traffic tickets disappear. Instead, however, he appears to have pretty much paid them. For his wife, he made the shocking change of strategy, reported with equal breathlessness by the NYT, of… hiring a lawyer. Cue the spooky music and include the lawyer’s ad, which (shockingly) reports that he specializes in defending traffic tickets.

Second, Rubio did not play the victim card or say anything about the police targeting Cubans, white Hispanics, pretty Colombian blondes like his wife or anything else. The Rubios let the police do their job and moved on.

The lesson is that the media will be in Hillary Clinton's tank no matter how many times she avoids or treats them like dirt.

The media will spend the next year looking for incidents like the Rubio's traffic record and dropping them on the front page to bail out the sinking Clinton candidacy.

Insanity liberal style

Not long ago, there was a TV show called "Love American Style". I wasn't a big fan but some scenes were funny. It was like "The Love Boat" without the ship.

In the last couple of days, we've learned about Insanity Liberal Style and it's not TV. It is reality brought to parents by school teachers and administrators who have no respect for parents or their wishes.

Let's go to Minnesota where a school principal decided to take youngsters to an "adult shop" for a little introduction to sex toys. Really? I want some school administrator to teach my kids about sex toys? Wonder what genius came up with that idea?

The parents are not happy, as we read in news reports:

Parents of students at a small Minneapolis private school are demanding the director resign after she led a field trip to a shop that sells sex toys and adult novelties.“We are not happy with what happened,” said Steve Strawmatt, who has already removed his 10-year-old son from the school.Strawmatt issued a statement on behalf of about nine sets of parents of kids at Gaia Democratic School who are outraged that director Starri Hedges took about a dozen middle- and high-school-age students to the Smitten Kitten late last week as part of a sex education course.Meanwhile, parent Lynn Floyd filed a complaint with Minneapolis police accusing Hedges of exposing children to pornographic material. The police report recommends further investigation.“I want her done and out, and that school closed,” Floyd said Thursday. “I want her away from children,” he continued. “It’s borderline predation.”Hedges did not return calls seeking comment, but the school posted a statement on its website defending its leader.“Gaia Democratic School’s board of directors stands behind the premise of the field trip,” the statement said. “We view it as a legitimate learning experience that relates directly to topics covered during our yearlong Sexual Health class.”

A legitimate learning experience? Are you kidding me? Exposing kids to sex toys is a legitimate activity?

The next episode is out of the Bay Area. We understand that a teacher reportedly told her students to snap selfies with their parents' sex toys:

The teacher’s extra-credit assignment requested that Encinal High School students scour through their parent’s dresser drawers in search of condoms, sex toys or anything provocative and snap a selfie of themselves, according to KPIX-TV.

A credit assignment? What ever happened to reading and math? How about a selfie with their parents at the dinner table? or a selfie of the family going to church?

We see two things here and they should scare every parent from coast to coast.

First, there are too many administrators and teachers who don't respect parents. In other words, it didn't occur to anyone in these two instances to run the idea by the parents. Maybe you put a note in the kids' pack for the parents to sign off on.

Second, it confirms why so many parents are "home schooling". They can't trust school administrations. They would rather sacrifice their time (and home space) and teach their kids math, reading, US History and a few values consistent with the family.

This is insanity with a liberal twist!. As the father of 3 boys now in their 20s, I find these actions appalling, and most of all, disrespectful to the parents.

Bush vs. Obama: The popularity contest

The latest in our game of polls is one that compares President Obama with President Bush. This is from The Telegraph:

More than half – 52 per cent – of Americans now have a favourable view of George W. Bush, who left office in 2009 with the lowest approval ratings of any president in recent history, his reputation scarred by the world financial crisis, Hurricane Katrina and the fallout from the 2003 invasion of Iraq.
His numbers now compare favourably to Mr Obama, whose personal job ratings have taken a dive in recent months, with only 45 per cent of Americans saying they approve of his presidency – with many marking him down for his handling of the Islamic State insurgency and the Middle East.

So what does it mean? It means little, but I have a few thoughts:

First, President Obama's lack of leadership has finally caught up with him. President Bush may have made mistakes, but he never ran out the clock so that the next guy would be stuck with the decision. Bush tackled the problems, made a decision, and moved on. For example, he could have punted on the financial crisis in October 2008. He didn't. He made a decision and lived with the consequences.

Second, President Obama's failures around the world are a direct result of his "de-Bushing" of our foreign policy. He has tried to be so different from President Bush that it has hurt his presidency and perhaps legacy. President Obama has given us an opportunity to look at the world without a strong U.S. that speaks with moral clarity, such as it did under President Bush.

Over in Iraq, the choice is clear. The Bush vs. Obama approach is there for all to see. Iraq 2009 was a better place than Iraq today. The difference is Obama's rejection of the Bush policies.

Third, President Bush has handled his post-presidency with such class. He has never taken cheap shots at his successor. He kept quiet in Dallas and out of partisan politics.

The poll is not significant. At the same time, I'm not surprised that people are taking a second look at President Bush and appreciating his honest efforts.

Is the US more or less respected under President Obama?

Merge FIFA with The Clinton Foundation

As the world turns and Mrs Clinton's poll continue to drop, it may be time for a little change of plans.

I mean let's put the Clintons in charge of FIFA and put presidential plans aside.

The Clintons are very familiar with FIFA, as reported by the Washington Post:

During the closing session of the Clinton Global Initiative’s 2013 annual meeting, Bill Clinton called to the stage a former rival named Hassan Abdullah Al-Thawadi.
Three years earlier, Al-Thawadi, a young Qatari businessman, had led his country’s successful effort to host the 2022 soccer World Cup, beating out, among others, a U.S. bid led by Clinton. Al-Thawadi and his countrymen had rejoiced after they were awarded the tournament in an auditorium in Zurich, while elsewhere in the room Clinton and his team stewed.
Allegations that Qatar had bribed its way to the victory soon emerged, prompting an internal investigation by soccer’s governing body that had been going on for more than a year by the time of the CGI event.
At the gathering, Clinton stood on stage as Al-Thawadi talked with pride about plans to use technology developed for Qatari soccer stadiums to cool greenhouses and feed the hungry.
“We bid on the belief that the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar will act as a catalyst for positive change in Qatar, in the Middle East as well as beyond,” Al-Thawadi said in New York that September day, before posing for a picture with Clinton and another Qatari official, according to a video of the event posted online.
For the Qataris, the moment offered a touch of Clinton-blessed legitimacy amid a brewing controversy. For the Clinton Foundation, it came with a major donation.

There is that word "donation" again.

The Clinton Foundation and FIFA are two of a kind or the golden couple of international organizations putting money in the pockets of their leaders.
I think that it would be a perfect fit. The Clintons understand how the world does business.

Bill Clinton can go from country to country, give a speech and get donations for FIFA and his estate, also known as the Clinton Foundation.

FIFA is where the Clintons belong. They belong in an unaccountable organization with no regard for transparency.Hillary Clinton can be named president of FIFA. She will have a big plane, a large staff, and no one will care about her emails. She can hire Syd and no one will care.

Last, but not least, the Clinton Foundation can work to bring the World Cup to the U.S. in 2024.

The opening ceremony can be in a new stadium built next to the Clinton Library.

Let's give the Clintons to FIFA so we can have a serious election next year.
