Who was familiar with the Wyatt Earp story before that great Kevin Costner movie from the 1990's?
I had read a bit about him but it was the movie that put him on the map for me.
The legendary Wyatt Earp died on this day in 1929 at age 80. He spent the last years of his life as a consultant to Hollywood. Sadly, he never got to see the great John Wayne western movies that came decades later.
Was the Costner movie accurate? I don't know for sure but it was great.
