We celebrate today the 236th anniversary of The Declaration of Independence:
"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal,
that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights,
that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness"
The beauty of the Declaration is that established the ideals of the US. It told the world that our Founding Fathers were men who valued individual freedom and that our rights came from God not government.
It was a radical document back in 1776. It caused a revolutionary war that led to independence. It created the nation that we call the US.
