The "blame Bush" strategy is not working anymore

The "blame Bush" or "I inherited a bad economy" narrative worked for President BO for much of '09.

It is not working anymore.  In fact, it is now making Pres BO look weak and not very presidential.  Check out what Robert Reich of the Clinton administration said about it:

"In Ohio yesterday, Obama reiterated that he had inherited the worst economy since the Great Depression. That's true. But the excuse is wearing thin. It's his economy now, and most voters don't care what he inherited."

I've always had two problems with this "I inherited" message.

First, we elect presidents to fix problems.  We do not want them blaming their predecessors forever.

Second, the "I inherited" message is hard to take when you consider that Senator Obama voted for everything that he "inherited".  He clearly voted for every dime of the deficit that he "inherited".    He also expanded spending thus making the deficit even bigger.

My suggestion to Pres BO is to stop blaming Bush and start governing or fixing problems.
