Campaign finance laws are so confusing that honest candidates can break the law. The system is a joke, as we have seen with the rise of PAC's and 527's.
Campaign finance laws are not stopping the flow of money. They have created other ways of getting the money into the process.
Why are people trying to buy influence? Because we have a federal government that spends too much money and it impacts employers and employees.
So what's the solution?
I think that we should eliminate all of the campaign finance laws and replace them with full disclosure.
It's simple: You contribute whatever you want to whoever you want.....but it has to be fully disclosed!
