he Democrats have had a rough week with scandals. First, it was the Dan Sullivan story in Alaska and the report that they were looking all over the state for someone with that name. Who came up with that one?
And now we hear that the federals have evidence that Rep. Ilhan Omar entered into a sham marriage with a man believed to be her brother. Well, this is weird, to say the least:
Federal investigators found evidence that Rep. Ilhan Omar had entered into a sham marriage with a man believed to be her brother during a 2016 investigation by the FBI and Department of Homeland Security, but the case against the Minnesota Democrat stalled after prosecutors concluded that any potential crime occurred outside the five-year statute of limitations.
The 2016 investigation into Omar’s marriage to Ahmed Nur Said Elmi was first reported by the New York Times and confirmed by The Post, with a source familiar with the probe claiming the “Biden US Attorney in Minnesota shut it down” shortly after taking office in 2021.
It is not immediately clear what specific evidence was uncovered about Omar’s marriage to Elmi.
Let the process continue. She is innocent until proven guilty, and that's the way it is. However, I've had many doubts about this lady from Day One. Her responses were always the same: Trump is bad, or the investigation is racist, or done by people who hate immigrants. or by right-wingers who don't want women in public office.
In other words, once she started playing the race/gender/immigration card then I suspected her innocence. All she had to do is open the files and prove her innocence. Instead, she started playing "the cards" and not answering the questions.
So let's see where all this goes. I'd love to know where they went for their honeymoon. They have some lovely lakes in Minnesota -- 10,000 or so they tell us. Or maybe they have one of those proposal videos where the guy drops to his knees and says: "Hey Hey Ilhan I wanna marry you Hey hey Ilhan no one else could ever do."
