Chief Justice Roberts told us that
the mandate was unconstitutional under the commerce clause. This is good
because it respects the constitution.
He also said that BO-Care was
constitutional as a "tax". Again, he is correctly confirming that the Congress
can tax and spend.
At the end of the day, this is the
worst political outcome for Pres BO & Dems.
First, Pres BO & Dems spent
2009-10 telling us that it was not a tax. Just
check it out for yourself:
"STEPHANOPOULOS: That may be, but it’s still a tax increase.
"STEPHANOPOULOS: That may be, but it’s still a tax increase.
OBAMA: No. That’s not true, George. The — for us to say that you’ve got to
take a responsibility to get health insurance is absolutely not a tax increase.
What it’s saying is, is that we’re not going to have other people carrying your
burdens for you anymore than the fact that right now everybody in America, just
about, has to get auto insurance. Nobody considers that a tax increase. People
say to themselves, that is a fair way to make sure that if you hit my car, that
I’m not covering all the costs."
Question: Was he ignorant or deceptive. I can not read Pres BO's mind but he does not win either way.
Second, Pres BO will now have to ask Congress for a "tax" to pay for
BO-Care. He owns the Obama Care tax that we were told did not exist!
The debate is over. BO-Care is a tax and we will let the American people decide that on the first Tuesday in November.
My money is on Romney!
