What happened to Elissa the moderate?

What happened to Elissa the moderate?:

Sen. Elissa Slotkin says she wants young people to think twice before working for the Trump administration.

-----------------------------

nother moderate goes immoderate. I guess Let’s listen to what Senator Elissa Slotkin of Michigan had to say, via Breitbart:

The Michigan Democrat made the remarks at the University of Chicago’s Institute of Politics, during a live recording of Vox’s America, Actually! podcast with editorial director Astead Herndon. A clip of the exchange circulated on X.

Slotkin said she wants to examine what she called “signature cases” and target not only the president but the officials around him:

“I want to look at these signature cases and not just focus on the president, but on the people who enabled him,” Slotkin said.

“I want young people coming out of school to say, should I go work for the Trump administration? Like that sounds fun. I might get an opportunity. I want them to be like, Lord, that might be buying myself a ton of problems that I don’t want, and so let me avoid participating in that. I want that deterrence message.”

The account that posted the video, @ThinkerChicago, claimed the senator hopes the planned prosecutions will frighten young conservatives away from politics altogether.

Frighten young conservatives? Sure sounds like the Senator wanted to scare somebody from getting involved in politics. It smells like banana republic stuff to me.

Will it actuially scare young conservatives? I don’t think so. It will, in fact, encourage more young conservatives to go out and pursue their political goals. It will also promote the idea that the current Democrat Party is angry and out to promote radical ideas. Most people will see the senator’s remarks as further evidence of how extreme and influential the DSA is in the Democrat Party. Sure sounds like the senator is also afraid of a primary.

Also, what if a Republiocan senator had something like this? It would have many in the media asking every GOP candidate about the enator’s remarks. I hope that every Democrat has to answer a similar question.
