Immigration is suddenly a huge concern for registered voters:
The poll, conducted between June 28 and July 2, found:What does it that mean?
- Fifteen percent of U.S. registered voters said immigration was the top issue determining how they will cast their ballot in November, while 14 percent said the economy was their biggest concern.
- Twenty-six percent of registered Republicans cited immigration as the most important issue likely to determine their vote, up 14 percentage points from a similar poll conducted at the beginning of June.
On one hand, it could be enthusiastic Democrats looking forward to a change in Congress to push immigration reform or DACA.
On the other hand, it could be a backlash against open borders and the costs associated with taking in people.
We will know the answer on election day. My guess is that it's more of a backlash against open borders.
In other words, this is an issue that will help the GOP rather than Democrats.
