Obama’s version of “the chickens coming home to roost”

(My new Babalu Blog post)

Back in 2008, Rev Wright became famous for that line about "the chickens coming home to roost", or a reference that America had it coming on 9-11.
Incredibly, we've just found something rather interesting. It is very relevant because it was written by Barrack Obama before he became a national figure at the 2004 Democrat Convention.
This is what Paul Sperry reports:
"In 2004, Obama released an update of his 1995 memoir, “Dreams from My Father,” with a little-noticed new preface about the attacks.
“On September 11, 2001,” Obama wrote, “…history returned with a vengeance; in fact, as Faulkner reminds us, the past is never dead and buried — it isn’t even past.”
“This collective history, this past, directly touches my own,” he added. “Not merely because, as a consequence of 9/11, my name is an irresistible target of mocking websites from overzealous Republican operatives. But also because the underlying struggle between worlds of plenty and worlds of want…is the struggle set forth, on a miniature scale, in this book,” which at its core is an indictment against Western imperialism, racism and colonialism.
Obama goes on to say he identifies with the “desperation and disorder of the powerless,” and how they can “easily slip into violence and despair.”"

This is amazing for a couple of reasons:
1) How did the media miss this edition of the book? Can you imagine the outrage if this had come out in 2008 or even 2012? This is a big time "somebody dropped the ball"!
2) It's not surprising to read this given where Obama comes from, or the leftist corners of the Democrat Party.
Over the years, I've heard these arguments from leftist college professors, leftist Latin American authors and just about everybody over at the extreme left.
They blame the West, colonialism, and most of all, they love to blame the US.
They promote victimhood in the Third World and then look the other way when their favorite characters (such as Castro) violate human rights and do not hold elections.
Therefore, it's not surprising that Mr Obama would write this to analyze 9-11 in his book.
He grew up in these left wing precincts.
He hung around with these people. This is probably what he heard, or even discussed with friends, after 9-11
Amazing that we did not hear about this in 2008!
Or maybe whoever wrote the book wrote the update and didn't tell Mr Obama about it!   Maybe he'll tell reporters that he just read about the update from news reports!
