It's the first summer of the 2nd term and things are not looking good for the Obama presidency.
Egypt presents a very difficult challenge. Foreign policy events can get out of hand very quickly, as President Carter learned with Iran back in 1979-80.
What happened to the Middle East under President Obama? I think that he mishandled the whole thing pretending that he could make things happen with speeches and the weight of his personality.
Did his personality and speeches do much? The answer is no.
