It's been a tough "Navidad" for President(a) Claudia Sheinbaum of Mexico.
First, there was a major train derailment killing a dozen people. Train derailments happen, but this train was a controversial project of her more and more controversial predecessor Andres Lopez-Obrador. There are all kinds of allegations in Mexican media that the former president's sons got rich out of this train and safety took a second seat to corruption.
Then, Maduro gets arrested, putting her in a tough position with President Trump. She has to oppose the action but must be careful how far she goes. Sheinbaum is running out of leftist allies in Latin America as voters go the other way. She is down to Petro in Colombia and he's not a good ally these days.
And the bad "Navidad" turned worse with the news that the U.S. tax on remittances goes into effect. Honestly, this last problem may be the biggest "problema" of all.
