In 1971, my brother and I attended “10 cent beer night” in Milwaukee. It was crazy and we weren’t old enough to buy one! At one point, the police had to intervene and arrest several fans in the parking lot to stop them from driving home under the influence. It was a disaster.
Many years ago or this day in 1974, they tried it in Cleveland and it did not work out again. It was a disaster in Cleveland and the game forfeited to protect players from drunk fans. We are happy to report that the idea was never tried again!
