Sammy Ellis (1941-2016) and baseball card collections

We had his baseball card!     My brother and I collected them and I recall this one for sure.   By the way, I loved those old Reds' uniforms.

We learned that Sammy Ellis was born on this day in 1941 and died in 2016.   

He pitched in the 1960's and then worked as a coach and scout for several organizations later.

Ellis had a great year in 1965 for the Reds:   22-10 with a 3.79 ERA.      Overall, he was 63-58 in his career.
