Santos should switch parties

From drag queen allegations to resume enhancements to this or that, Representative George Santos has a little explaining to do. According to news reports, the list keeps growing:
Newly elected Rep. George Santos, R-N.Y., is facing a host of questions: He's accused of faking his résumé and the circumstances of his mother's death along with having questionable campaign finances reporting and allegations of pilfering from a fundraising campaign for a dying dog, among other things.
He has acknowledged embellishing his educational background and job history, but has denied most of the other allegations, even as he was sworn in for his new House post this month.
The allegations have sparked multiple demands for his resignation, as well as at least two investigations and calls for additional probes. Santos, 34, has repeatedly said he will not resign.
Santos should switch parties and no one will ask him to resign. Let me explain:
1) It won't impact the House majority. The GOP has the numbers and the Dems need a legislator to go "drag queen" for the teachers' union;
2) He can join the king of all résumé enhancers, President Biden. They call him "the fabulist in chief" and there is a video to prove it;
3) He can ask Senator Elizabeth Warren what it's like to lie about your past; and,
4) there is always Senator Richard Blumenthal who can explain how to stop media questions about the Vietnam War he did not serve in.
Easy as 1-2-3. Flip parties and the whole thing will disappear in a New York minute! Representative Santos will fill right at home on the other side. Santos to Democrats for a player not to be named later and let's move on from this distraction.

Nobody mentioned China at Davos

Another Davos meeting and another year of more alarmism and insane speeches. The highlights of the insanity were the two men defeated by George W. Bush for president. Let's check the story:
John Kerry, former senator, former secretary of state, and now chief climate alarmist for the Biden administration, said in so many words Tuesday during his World Economic Forum rant that it’s too late to save the planet from global warming. Yet he claimed climate programs still need more “money, money, money, money, money, money, money.” The only reason he’s not the worst person in the world is because he has so much competition at Davos.
And now the other one speaks:
No less nauseating was the performance of another failed presidential candidate, Al Gore, the mother of the global warming cult. He came off like the crazy uncle that the family tries to keep away from the outside world. Author and columnist Michael Walsh said that Gore is a man who appears to need help. During his tirade, Gore gesticulated “wildly, his face reddening, his voice rising,” said Walsh. “The former vice president of the United States became a man in the deadly grip of a panicked, violent, superstitious reaction to … the weather.”
John Kerry wants more money and Al Gore did a lot of screaming. They are everything that is wrong with the climate-change crowd. They rant about this or that but say nothing that will make climate change go away.
The big problem is China and no one wants to say it. You can't tackle the climate-change problem if no one wants to confront China directly and publicly. Look at this:
China emits more greenhouse gas than the entire developed world combined, a new report has claimed.
The research by Rhodium Group says China emitted 27% of the world's greenhouse gases in 2019.
The US was the second-largest emitter at 11% while India was third with 6.6% of emissions, the think tank said.
Scientists warn that without an agreement between the US and China it will be hard to avert dangerous climate change.
Question for Mr. Gore and Mr. Kerry: Why aren't you screaming about China? It does not matter what we do if China refuses to negotiate with the world. Can you say Paris Climate Change Accords? What did China agree to do in those accords? Furthermore, how do we hold an autocratic country accountable anyway? Where is the free press and regulatory agencies to know whether or not China is doing what they promised to do?
The Davos crowd will take their planes back home and nothing will happen. Just a lot of hot air, and I don't mean global warming.

The left's golden girl wants to finally get married

According to news reports, New Zealand's Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern announced her resignation effective February 7th. This is a portion of her speech:
The PM spoke directly to members of her family during the speech, telling her four-year-old daughter Neve: "Mum is looking forward to being there when you start school this year,"
She also asked her fiancé Clarke Gayford if they could "finally get married" after the coronavirus pandemic thwarted their earlier plans.
She also said something about not having anything left in the tank. Is she talking about energy or public support?
It looks like New Zealand just got fed up with her ways, i.e. an authoritarian tyrant dressed up in the finest woke attire. Like some of our Democrats, she became a control freak during the pandemic. At one point, she locked down New Zealand because of one case of COVID-19. Furthermore, she told her fellow citizens to turn in their neighbors for talking to people outside. That reminds me of Cuba and the regime's neighborhood committees to defend the revolution. As expected, she went into gun grabbing mode after the mass shooting at a mosque in 2019.
She reminded me of Senator Elizabeth Warren without claiming that she was part Māori, the people living there before the English landed their ships.
We wish her well now that she can "finally get married" and turn her partner into a husband and father of their daughter. Maybe she can start a New Zealand reality TV version of “The Donna Reed Show” and kiss her husband off to work every day. Maybe they can have a couple of more kids and remind the country that New Zealand needs more babies to pay for all those generous social programs. It's hard to keep your welfare state clicking with a birth rate of 1.6 children per woman.
In the end, it was political reality that drove her out. People just got tired of her act. My bet is that her liberal soulmate, PM Justin Trudeau of Canada, is next. He may be telling us soon that his tank is a bit dry too.
