We remember Robert Thomas Velline who was born in Fargo, South Dakota on this day in 1943. We known him as Bobby Vee, one of the most popular pop vocalists of the early 1960's. He died in 2016.
On this day in 1945, he was reported dead by the BBC. Later, we learned that it was a suicide and that his ashes were allegedly found along Eva Braun, his wife. The European war ended a few weeks later when Germany surrendered.
