We remember Eddie Matthews who was born in Texas on this day in 1931. Eddie broke with the Braves in 1952 and became one of the premiere power hitters of the National League. He won two HR titles and played third base with the Milwaukee Braves. Matthews & Aaron hit 863 HR's as teammates!
He retired with 512 HR and was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1978.
