A tormented Obama would rather be talking about anything but terrorism

We saw a tormented man tonight.

President Obama never thought that he'd be giving a terrorism speech in year 7 of his presidency.     After all, didn't he end wars?  or makes us loved all over?   or say last Wednesday that there were no credible threats?

On the domestic side, ObamaCare is one outrageous mess.   The exchanges are closing and the people are not signing up.   There are serious economic anxieties.

Unfortunately, reality has a way of blowing up your plans.

As Greg Jaffe said:
In addressing the nation Sunday evening, President Obama turned to a venue he doesn’t like to discuss a subject he would rather avoid. His decision to speak on the terrorist threat from the Oval Office, just days after the deadly attack in San Bernardino, Calif., reflects a broad concern in the White House that the American people, distracted by the overheated cacophony of the campaign season, are not listening to him. Or at least they are not hearing what he has to say.
It wasn't supposed to be this way.   The thousands who cheered his election that night in 2008 did not see any of this coming.

We discussed the speech on Sunday's show with Bill Katz of Urgent Agenda:
