(My new American Thinker post)
Does President Obama have a lot on his plate these days? I guess not because he has managed to inject himself in the Redskins' controversy:
"President Barack Obama says that if he owned the Washington Redskins, he would "think about changing" the team name, wading into the controversy over a football nickname that many people deem offensive to Native Americans. Obama, in an interview with The Associated Press, said team names like the Redskins offend "a sizable group of people." He said that while fans get attached to the nicknames, nostalgia may not be a good enough reason to keep them in place. "I don't know whether our attachment to a particular name should override the real legitimate concerns that people have about these things," he said in the interview, which was conducted Friday."
What exactly would he change the name to?

Let's see "pieles rojas" to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. Wouldn't that upset the native Americans who speak Spanish? Wouldn't they complain their skin isn't really red?
How about the "Washington Mixed Sox" to avoid any reference to a particular ethnic group.
Political correctness is killing us and this is a good example.
Team mascots are not intended to devalue any group or identity. On the contrary, I've always associated the mascot with fun, as in the case of the Redskins.
What about the Cowboys? Should they be called the "Cowpersons"? We can't discriminate against those single women who voted for Obama because Romney was going to take away their birth control pills.
President Obama should govern rather than opine about the NFL. He is got bigger things on his plate, a lot bigger things!
We need a "break" from Washington on Sunday afternoons when the Cowboys play the Redskins!
We already have enough Obama in our lives!
