Once upon a time, when we had Pres Bush and a budget deficit of 2% of GDP, Senator Obama said this:
Again, we repeat that our budget deficit in the 8 years of Pres Bush was between 2 to 3% of GDP. We remind you that it has been in the 7 to 10% range under Pres BO.
Today, we saw a petulant Pres BO. We saw a man making statements that defy credulity.
First, he said that we would default on our debts if we don't raise our debt ceiling. Actually, that's not true. What we would have to do is live within our means, or spend 60 cents rather than borrow 40 cents to spend $1.
Second, Pres BO blamed Congress for our spending. He has apparently forgotten the US$ 787 billion stimulus that he signed into law in '09. He has incredibly overlooked Obama-Care, a monstrosity that is only starting to sink in to average Americans.
It was a pathetic performance by Pres BO. He is obviously not living in reality. He thinks that he can just blame everybody else for his lack of leadership.
Speaking of leadership, we learned that The White House will miss its own budget deadline. ("Acting Budget Director Jeff Zients told Ryan (R-Wis.) late Friday that the budget will not be delivered by Feb. 4, as required by law, a House aide said.")
We repeat that this is not a serious man. He is very good at telling people what they want to hear, specially minorities. His team was very good at rounding up 3-4 million "low information voters" and getting their man reelected. However, they are not serious governing and that is more and more clear everyday.
