On Monday night, the balls will be flying out of Seattle. It’s the Home Run Derby and these are the first-round matchups:
(1) Luis Robert Jr. vs. (8) Adley Rutschman
(2) Pete Alonso vs. (7) Julio Rodríguez
(3) Mookie Betts vs. (6) Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
(4) Adolis García vs. (5) Randy Arozarena
On the surface, that’s a lot of baseball talent and Cuba is wonderfully represented,
“El Bombi” Garcia is well known to us in Texas. He has 21 home runs and leads the major 69 RBIs. Adolis can hit. What I’m hoping is that baseball fans can see him throw out runners: 10 outfield assists this season, and 36 since the start of the 2021 season, or the most in baseball. Again, I hope that you can see his amazing arm.
