Andy Kosco was born in Youngstown, Ohio, on this day in 1941. He played for several teams, including the 1971 Milwaukee Brewers.
Andy started with the Twins but it was hard to break into that lineup as a first baseman with Don Mincher and Harmon Killebrew. He was traded to the Yankees and hit 15 HR in 1968, then he went to the LA Dodgers and hit 19 HR in 1970.
In 1971, Andy was sent to Milwaukee where he hit 10 HR. I recall one on opening day.
After baseball, Andy was a successful insurance agent. He, and others, bring back a few memories of those early days of Brewers baseball:
