No "California dreamin'" for Democrats. Or as Peter Roff wrote:
"Neither party managed to land any knockout blows in California Tuesday as voters went to the polls there and in seven other states to pick candidates who will face off in the Nov. 6 midterm elections, when control of the U.S. House and Senate will be up for grabs."The Democrat plan was to use the California primary to "shut out" GOP incumbents and pick up seats in Congress. At the end of the night, the GOP incumbents won their districts.
Last, but not least, John Cox, the GOP candidate, will run against Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom. The odds favor Newsom but the GOP turnout was heavy and Mr. Cox will be competitive.
Overall, a decent night for the GOP in California.
