In the 1950s, New York was indeed the "Capital of baseball".   

The Yankees, Dodgers and Giants dominated the post season:   Yankees 1950-51-52-53, Giants 1954, Dodgers vs Yankees 1955-56 and the Yankees again in 1957-58.

This is a song about Mickey Mantle, Willie Mays and Duke Snyder!
