A word about Newt

Back in September, I said that Newt Gingrich was brilliant, the smartest man on the stage but not a candidate for president.

In late October, or about the time that Gov Perry collapsed, Newt's wonderful debate performances sent him to the top.

In Iowa, Newt was indeed targeted by ads.  I don't know whether they were fair or unfair but I do know that such is the political game.

Secondly, the negative ads were nothing compared to what will greet the GOP nominee later this summer.  In other words, Pres BO can not run for reelection defending his record so it will be nothing but a negative campaign.

Newt's reaction was worse than the ads.  His Iowa election night speech was terrible and the whining unacceptable.  Again, did Newt expect that the 2012 campaign would be easy?

To make matters worse, Newt's remarks on Bain Capital lost me.  It shows that he is out to get Romney rather than be a serious candidate for president.

We are very sorry to see Newt self destruct but I am not surprised given his unstable political career.  This is exactly why I did not get excited about him in the fall when he was thrilling all of us with incredible debate performances.  Newt can debate but can he control himself?
