The great Charlie Hough was born in Hawaii on this day in 1948.
He was drafted by the LA Dodgers in 1966 and then traded to Texas in 1980.
In 1982, Hough became a starter for the Rangers and turned into one of the best in the AL: 139 wins, 3.68 ERA, 98 complete games and 11 shutouts. He did all of this with some very mediocre Rangers' teams!
Overall, he won 216 games and will be remembered for giving up one of Reggie Jackson's 3 HR in game 6 of the 1977 World Series.
