The 2010 census was great for Texas

The 2010 census was a wonderful Christmas gift for those of us who want Pres BO to retire in 2013:

"Texas, continuing seven consecutive decades of growth, will gain the most seats with four more House members in 2012. Florida gains two, while Arizona, Georgia, Nevada, South Carolina, Utah and Washington each gain one."  (Fox News)

What do  most of the "growth" states have in common?  Low taxes and "right to work" laws!

On paper, this is a big win for the GOP.  Add to this the results of 2010 in statehouses and you will get nice redistricting soon!

In the short run, I think that you will see a lot more Dems retire before 2012 or switch parties to compete in the new landscape.

Last, but not least, there are now 308 million of us!  (It was 281 million in 2000)
