Afghanistan is getting more and more complicated, specially for the Dems who used to tell us that this was the "right war"!

Can things get any worse for Pres BO?  High gasoline prices?  the Middle East falling apart? a $230 billion federal deficit in the month of February......what else can go wrong?

What about Afghanistan?

We heard about the US soldier who went "crazy" over the weekend and killed a dozen or so civilians.  It was wrong.  It will probably create more bad feelings between the two governments.

What do we do now?

First, you don't have Pres BO make a public statement saying that ".....he is "proud generally" of U.S. forces in Afghanistan."

We are talking about volunteers.  They are 18-20 year old young men and women who "volunteer" to defend their country.  For example, our # 3 son is serving in the US Army.

How can the commander in chief who put them in such a horrible landscape say that he "generally" proud?

Bad choice of words, to say the least!

Second, it's time to reconsider the policy and move our troops from the urban areas.  Also, we need to focus more on blowing up caves and killing terrorists in the countryside.   Again, our mission should be to kill the leaders (drones) and to use our technology to make every cave in Afghanistan a very unpleasant place for terrorists to spend the night.

As we've said since Pres Bush started the war in 2001, our mission in Afghanistan is to kill terrorists and to keep them from taking over the Afghanistan government.  In other words, we don't need US, or NATO troops, in cities as targets for extremists.

Yes, I supported the surge of 30,000 troops back in December 2009.  Like most GOP members, we supported Pres BO until he told everyone that we were leaving before the commanders on the ground said that the mission was finished.
