Why aren't we talking about foreign policy?

We've always lived in a very complicated world.  However, it looks like things are a bit more complicated these days.

China tops the list because of its growing economic, political and potentially military importance.  China is also advancing its interests in Latin America because it needs more and more natural resources for its economy.

Speaking of Latin America, Brazil is slowly turning into an international economic powerhouse.  Add Colombia, Argentina and specially Chile.

Mexico is in the middle of a terrible war with cartels.  It's hard to tell how it will end up.

Europe is in the middle of a financial storm.    What's going to happen in the Middle East?  Well, your guess is as good as mine.

And so on and so on!

Nevertheless, our political class is not paying much attention to the world.

I understand that domestic issues dominate our thinking these days.  However, we can't forget the world or it will reintroduce itself by harshly knocking at our door.
