"The Twilight Zone" in Cincinati

We caught up with the Pittsburgh-Cincinnati game with about 5 minutes to go.

It was 15-10 and the Bengals were driving to score.    Then it was 16-10 and Cincinnati looked like a winner.

Then everything turned into "The twilight zone" for the Bengals: a fumble, a 15-yard penalty and one more personal foul that gave Pittsburgh 30 yards without having to run a play.

I could not believe the stupidity of the players, specially Pacman Jones.   Frankly, the Bengals deserved better.

Vikings and Packers will win today

The weather will be a factor today:  cold temperatures in Minnesota and rain in Washington.

Minnesota will use the sub-zero to its advantage:   Minnesota 20-14.

Green Bay will beat Washington: 31-17.

May your favorite team win but I'm picking Packers and Redskins.

So El Chapo is going back to the same prison that he escaped from?

Let’s give the Mexican authorities a little credit for capturing El Chapo.  It was a good effort by the Mexican military.  We should point out that Mexican soldiers died over the past few months looking for El Chapo.
So the good news is that El Chapo is back in jail.  The bad news is that he’s going back to the same prison he already escaped from, according to news reports.
My guess is that the Mexican government wants to prove that they can detain El Chapo even if it means going back to the same facility that he escaped from.
Let me tell you how a Mexican friend reacted to the news that he’s going back to the same prison: “En serio?” or loosely translated to “seriously?”
President Pena-Nieto has been under fire for El Chapo’s escape.  It exposed a major weakness in Mexico’s judicial framework.   It distracted the President from his efforts to reform energy, public education and the telecommunications sector.
President Pena Nieto promised to focus on the economy but the violence continues to dominate the front pages.  The war has had two serious consequences:
a) 70,000, some say 100,000, civilians have been killed since 2006; and,
b) El Chapo’s escape put corruption on the front pages, especially for international investors.  Mexico has been trying very hard to change its image and El Chapo didn’t help.
Congratulations to President Pena-Nieto, and Mexico armed forces, for doing the hard work of arresting El Chapo.  At the same, please don’t put him in the same prison.  Give El Chapo to the US and go after other cartel leaders.
