McAuliffe is reading Biden's polls

For the record, Virginia has disappointed me before.   So I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hoping for good news next month.  Maybe President Biden's problems will help us in Virginia, according to Paul Beddard:    

Former Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe’s once seemingly easy path to a historic second term has gone off the rails with President Joe Biden’s sinking popularity, forcing the Democrat to scramble to get voters out.

Just weeks after McAuliffe said he’d like to campaign every day beside Biden, his campaign is distancing itself from the White House with the expectation that he can win the race against GOP businessman Glenn Youngkin on his own.

According to the aforementioned article, Mr. McAuliffe admitted in a Zoom interview that Biden is not helping him.

Youngkin is still the underdog here.  But I like his chances for two reasons:

First, Democrats pay gasoline prices too.  They go shopping every week and get hit by inflation.   The latest gasoline prices are at a seven-year high.  

Second, these Democrats in Virginia are no different than the 80-million something who voted for Biden.  They may have checked the Biden box but it was all about Trump.   Biden does not have that base of voters who are willing to walk on fire or pay gasoline prices to support him. Attorney General Merrick Garland is not helping McAuliffe either.  

Last, but not least, a friend from Virginia told me that McAuliffe was a bad choice for Democrats.  He is not that popular to begin with and was banking on the "D" next to his name to get by.   Maybe this is why he's been under 50 pct for some time.

My money is on Youngkin.

My mother the terrorist

 Like many of you, I love the fact that there is an editor who reads my drafts.   It makes me a better writer, to say the least.   I've come to the conclusion that the Biden White House needs someone to edit their messages.  Why?  Because they have the mother of all message problems.

Check this out -- the newest episode of "My Mother the Terrorist":    

At issue is a new DOJ effort to combat an alleged increase in violence and threats directed at schools boards and other school officials. Many parents have been attending meetings across the country to voice their displeasure with COVID-19 restrictions and the use of critical race theory in curricula.    

"Threats against public servants are not only illegal, they run counter to our nation’s core values," Attorney General Merrick Garland said of the effort in a statement Monday. "Those who dedicate their time and energy to ensuring that our children receive a proper education in a safe environment deserve to be able to do their work without fear for their safety."

Garland directed federal law enforcement agencies to work with state and local law enforcement to discuss the "disturbing trend" of harassment directed at school officials.

Yes, let's intimidate those moms convinced that schools are no place to teach their kids about gender equity, homosexuality or that every white person is responsible for all of the sins of mankind.   Let's punish that mom and dad who thought that their kid was learning how to write and read, not hate people based on their skin color.

Attorney General Garland should have cleared this one with an editor because he may have just elected Glenn Youngkin as the next Governor of Virginia.  Beyond that, it confirms that this is a tone-deaf administration, from talking about surveilling $600 bank transactions to repeating the nonsense that the border is closed.

Our cities are engulfed in crime.  Gasoline is higher and higher.  Inflation is real.  Nevertheless, the Biden administration wants to go after terrorist moms.

Remember when girls went to the bathroom to powder their noses?

We've come a long way from "double dates" and girls saying that they had to go to "the ladies' room" to powder their noses?  I can recall many times when the two guys left at the table wondered about whatever these girls were talking about.  It all seemed too strategic for us guys left waiting.    

Well, that was then and this is now.  

Over the weekend, Senator Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona was joined in the bathroom by ladies (and one man) screaming at her and even running the iPhone to show the world what a ladies' room looks like.  

And now Ana Navarro, who is always desperate to make the FOX News web site, has an opinion about the ladies in the bathroom.   Honestly, making the FOX site is the only way that anyone hears what Ana has to say.  Not too many people tune in to watch her on her own.

Here comes Ana.  This is from FOX:  

"Chasing anybody -- public or private -- into a bathroom, to me is beyond the pail [sic]. Maybe if [Sinema] spent less time in fundraisers with corporate donors and held town-halls to listen to constituents and answer their questions, they wouldn’t chase her into the damn [bathroom]," Navarro tweeted.

Yes, it's wrong but understandable.   I guess that's what she's saying.

There are two problems with what we saw over the weekend.

First, it is the ultimate invasion of privacy.  What's left if you can't go to the bathroom in private?

Second, it shows the hypocrisy of the Left.  They believe in winning at any cost and rules are for the rest of us.

Frankly, I don't know why Senator Joe Manchin stays as in the Democrat Party.  Now, I have the same question about Senator Sinema.

Hey hey we're the Haitians

A few minutes ago, I saw a trailer for "The Monkees" TV show:  "Hey hey we're the Monkees and people say we monkey around".

According to news report, there are a few more Haitians, to paraphrase the Monkees, "coming to your town."   

This is the story:    

Nearly 30,000 Haitian migrants have already made their way over the U.S.-Mexico border in recent weeks, but Panama's foreign minister says far more are on their way -- and she has been sounding the alarm for months.

In a new interview with Axios, Foreign Minister Erika Mouynes said that since the beginning of 2021 more than 85,000 Haitians have crossed through Panama and that she believes "they all are heading toward the U.S."

Apparently, Mexico is not planning to approve their asylum claims and wants them to go south.   Back to where?  Is Chile or Brazil going to take these people?  We understand that many threw away their IDs walking to the U.S.  So how can they get back to a country without their ID?

So where does this leave the U.S.?  Mexico does not want them.  Apparently no one else does either.  How long can another large group of Haitians stay under another bridge?

The entire episode is another disaster for the presidency of self-inflicted wounds.  My guess is that one of these wounds is going to be politically fatal soon.

In the meantime, a bunch of Haitians are coming to your town.
